Workshops and Vacation
in Senegal

€ 950,- per person (€ 850,- for students) for two weeks workshops & vacation
€ 850,- per person for 2 weeks vacation
Single room supplement: € 400,-

Payment & Cancellation conditions: Deposit upon booking: €400. For cancellations up to one month before the workshop begins, 20% of the amount paid will be retained. For cancellations less than one month before the workshop begins, the entire deposit will be retained.

Included:
• Accommodation in the “Tily-Boo” center with full board
• Daily dance and drum workshops

Dance workshops (approx. 3 h daily):
• Afro Dance (beginners and advanced)
• Traditional SABAR dance
• Traditional SAOUROUBA dances
Drum workshops (approx. 2 hours daily):
Djembe, Doun doun, Saourouba, Sabar, Tamah, Bougarabou and Kora

Arrival and departure (not included)

Flight to Dakar or Banjul. From Dakar by domestic flight (approx. 50 min.), bus cab or boat to Ziguinchor, the capital of Casamance. Depending on the flight and connection possibilities, an overnight stay may have to be planned. More information will be provided at our preparatory meeting before the start of the trip!

Excursions and other workshops (not included)

On request and for a (small) contribution towards expenses, excursions in the surrounding area can be organized, such as a boat trip to Bird Island, a trip to a village to visit a spiritual women’s group with a purification ritual, etc.

Festival Abene (admission extra)
The festival takes place every year from December 26 to January 2 in the nearby village of Abene.

Excursion to the carnival (admission extra)
In February, there is a carnival in the neighboring village of Kafountine.

Sculpture, carving, Shamanism seminar: trance dance, meditation, cleansing ritual, shamanic journey with fire ceremony, painting, batik, weaving, cooking, Language course in Mandinka, Diola, Wolof

General information:

Hepatitis B vaccination is recommended
No visa for EU citizens
Climate in winter: 20 – 24 degrees
Take along – recommendation: sports shoes, towel for the beach, sweater (in the evening it is sometimes fresh)
